The Jamaal Al-Rooh festival is one of the most memorable events organised my YMWA. Jamaal Al-Rooh brought together young women from different faiths, cultures and backgrounds with the aim of celebrating both inner and outer beauty. During Jamaal-Al-Rooh, we organised a bridal paegent where girls from Pakistan, Malaysia and the Middle East showcased their most beautiful garments. Malaysian sisters treated the audience with a traditional dance. A variety of stalls entertained the crowds. Those who attended were able to decorate their hands with henna or try out funky new hijaab styles. Participants were impressed by the quality and diversity of the entertainment. In particular, they felt free to express themselves in a women friendly Islamic environment
